What MATGLOBE offers

MATGLOBE is a reference portal: instead of searching for materials information in many separate places, you find several established databases for metallic and polymer materials in one place. The databases cover steel, aluminium, copper, high-temperature and aerospace materials, and polymers.

Access to the MATGLOBE Metals databases (StahlDat SX, aluSELECT & Teal Sheets and the Copper Key) is available free of charge after registration. Further databases and extended versions are available on request – you can find the options on the pricing page or ask us directly via the contact page.

The databases at a glance

• StahlDat SX – the only authorized online publication of the European Steel Register (Stahl-Eisen-Liste), licensed from the German Steel Institute VDEh. Over 2,400 steels, more than 470 of them corrosion-resistant stainless grades.
• aluSELECT & Teal Sheets – properties of commonly used aluminium alloys (35 wrought and 12 cast alloys) together with the designations and composition limits of more than 500 internationally registered wrought alloys. Offered together with European Aluminium.
• Copper Key – compares worldwide standards, materials, and designations of copper and copper alloys (ASTM, DIN, EN, BS). Published by Kupferverband e.V. and technically implemented by Matplus.
• JAHM MPDB – temperature-dependent material properties for simulation and design, especially useful for finite element analysis and CFD. Every material and data set is backed by references.
• MMPDS – the primary source of statistically based design allowables for metallic materials and fasteners in aerospace. Matplus is a member of the MMPDS Industrial Steering Group.
• Polymer Master – data consolidated from more than 5,000 manufacturer datasheets for over 100 base polymers, organized in three levels and classified according to VDA 231-200.

MATGLOBE Metals: three versions

The MATGLOBE Metals package bundles StahlDat SX, aluSELECT & Teal Sheets and the Copper Key. The three versions differ in how much steel data you can see:

• Free (no charge): numbers and short names of all European steel grades with their assigned characteristics and applications, plus aluSELECT & Teal Sheets and the Copper Key.
• Standard (€228 per year, i.e. €19 per month): adds chemical composition, mechanical properties and characteristic values according to VDA 231-200, standards, producers, substance declarations, the RAMON classification, hardenability curves and metallography.
• Professional (€1,188 per year, i.e. €99 per month): adds sheet metal data, flow curves, thermophysical data and CCT diagrams, as well as a library with FOSTA reports, technical rules and textbooks such as the heat treatment atlas.

All prices are per user and annual subscription, plus statutory VAT. MMPDS is not part of MATGLOBE Metals; it is licensed separately per year.

Working with the data

• Analysis with Matplus EDA®: configurable tables, interactive charts, filters, parameterization and statistical evaluation.
• Linked records: one click takes you from a standard to the international designations and product forms of a material, and back.
• Languages and units: switch the interface language (including German, English and French), the unit system and display options.
• Expert-reviewed: many records follow current standards and are checked regularly by the Matplus materials experts.

Who uses MATGLOBE

• Engineering and design: engineers who need dependable reference values for design, simulation and modeling.
• Material selection: materials specialists comparing steels, aluminium and copper materials across standards and designations.
• Industrial teams: companies that want traceable, reviewed materials data in their development processes.

Getting access

1. Register free of charge on matglobe.eu – this immediately unlocks MATGLOBE Metals Free.
2. Order Standard or Professional as an annual subscription in the Matplus Shop.
3. Activation: once your order has been checked, Matplus unlocks the additional content and informs you by email.

The subscription renews for another 12 months unless it is cancelled 30 days before the end of the term; an email to contact@matplus.eu is sufficient. The annual fee is invoiced at the start of the term. For multi-user or company licences, please contact us – we will find an individual solution.

Why MATGLOBE

• Established sources: the content comes from recognized institutions and publishers and is prepared by Matplus for online use.
• Referenced data: JAHM MPDB documents every material with references such as books, standards, and company publications, and MMPDS links texts, formulas, and literature to the data.
• Easy to compare: overview tables for filtering and sorting, interactive charts, and full-text search help you find and compare materials quickly.
• Several languages and units: where available, content can be switched between German and English and between different unit systems.
• Built for further use: the databases run on Matplus EDA® and can be connected to CAE, CAD, and PLM systems.

Partners and sources

For consistent materials data, Matplus works with recognized institutions, including the German Steel Institute (VDEh), Kupferverband, European Aluminium, and the Battelle Memorial Institute. Further partners include FOSTA – Research Association for Steel Application, and Stahlzentrum Düsseldorf. For metallography, aluSELECT is complemented by data sets from Schmitz Metallographie GmbH; JAHM MPDB is provided in cooperation with JAHM Software, Inc.

Complementary software from Matplus

• Matplus EDA® is the analysis and integration platform that runs the MATGLOBE databases. It provides materials data, information, and knowledge across sites – simple, open, and adaptable.

• JMatPro® calculates material data and material cards for alloys such as steels and aluminium, copper and nickel alloys. Matplus is the distribution partner of Sente Software Ltd. for JMatPro® in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Matplus supports company-wide solutions – in the cloud or as a local installation, with interfaces to PLM, CAE, and ERP.
